Race
We will write a letter to 6th grade students in
other states and towns. In these letters, you will tell about yourself, your
hometown, and other bits of information. You will follow specific guidelines
when you write to create an impressive piece of work!
Guidelines
√ Visit the following sites to find information about Springfield and to find TWO (2) to FOUR (4) middle schools and their addresses across the U.S.:

√ TYPE a letter Times New Roman, font size 12 nothing else!
√ PRINT THREE (3) COPIES OF YOUR LETTER two go to 6th graders, one goes to me.
√ BRING a legal size STAMPED (.39) envelope for each school you plan to write to
In your letter:
v Paragraph One: (Intro) Tell about The Great American Mail Race and why you are participating overall goal (s).
v Paragraph Two : The student will tell about themselves.
v Paragraph Three : The student will tell about your school and community.
v Paragraph Four : The student will ask questions of the reader.
v Paragraph Five : The student will include a conclusion (final thoughts), thank the reader, and ask for a reply.
