Computer Literacy I & II
Instructor: Mrs. Nancy Baughman
Welcome to the Computer Literacy
web page! Computer Science class is different from
other classes in that it is a totally hands-on class,
with most of a student's time spent working on a computer.
|
Some topics that are covered in Computer Lit I & II may include: |
|
| History of computers/computing | Keyboarding |
| How computers work | Desktop publishing/MS Publisher |
| Computers and the future | Word processing |
| Windows '95 or '98 operating sys. | Spreadsheets |
| MS Office applications | Database skills |
Attendance is very important. Most of the work for Computer Science class will be done in the lab, so there is very little homework. There is no textbook so it is important for students to keep up with the notes given in class. If a student is absent, he/she should check with the teacher or check the assignment board for make-up work
Amble time is given to work on assignments and projects, and it is important that work be completed on time, so wise use of class time is critical.
No CD's or diskettes from home are permitted for use on school computers. If needed, disks are provided in class.
